This Privacy Policy explains how Amanda Klay ("I," "me," "my," or "we") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit my website, sign up for my email list, enroll in a program or cohort (such as RECLAIM), or otherwise interact with my content, including The 18 Minutes podcast and associated social channels.

I take your privacy seriously. This policy is written to be clear and readable, not buried in legalese.

Note: I am a content creator and coach. I am not a licensed healthcare provider, and this website does not provide medical or mental-health treatment. I do not collect or process your information as a medical or healthcare entity. Any personal information you choose to share (for example, in a program intake form or a message to me) is handled as described below.

2. Information I Collect

Information you give me directly:

  • Your name and email address when you sign up for my email list or fill out a form

  • Payment information when you purchase a program or product (processed securely by Stripe — see Section 4)

  • Any information you choose to share in a program or cohort intake form, a survey, a comment, or a message to me

Information collected automatically when you visit:

  • Basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed

  • Cookies and similar technologies used to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it (see Section 5)

I do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and I ask that you not share medical, health, or other sensitive details through unsecured channels.

3. How I Use Your Information

I use the information I collect to:

  • Send you emails you've signed up for, including content, updates, and program announcements

  • Deliver and manage programs or sessions you enroll in

  • Process payments and send order or enrollment confirmations 

  • Respond to your questions and messages

  • Understand how my website and content are performing so I can improve them

  • Keep the website secure and functioning properly

I will only send you marketing emails if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

4. How I Share Your Information

I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with trusted service providers who help me run my business, and only as needed:

  • Stripe — processes payments securely. When you make a purchase, your payment details are handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy. I do not store your full card details.

  • Email and communication — I use Gmail (Google) to communicate with you and to manage email correspondence.

  • Email marketing / website platform — my email signup through MailerLite and website services by Sqaurespace help store contact information and deliver emails.

I may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect my rights, safety, or the integrity of my business.

5. Cookies and Tracking

My website may use cookies — small files stored on your device — to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you

  • Correct information that's inaccurate

  • Delete your personal information

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (note: I do not sell your information)

If you're in the European Economic Area or UK, you have rights under the GDPR. If you're a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these rights, email me at amanda@amandaklay.com and I'll respond as required by law.

7. Data Retention and Security

I keep your information only as long as needed to provide my services, comply with legal obligations, and run my business. I use reasonable measures to protect your information, and I rely on established providers like Stripe and Google for secure handling of payments and communications. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but I take protecting your data seriously.

8. Children's Privacy

My website and content are not directed to children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided me with information, please contact me and I'll delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated by email or on the website.
